The Patrol Operations Division is the foundation of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.  There are several specialized units including the Motorcycle Unit, K-9 Unit, ATV Unit, Emergency Response Tactical Team (ERT Team), and the Auxiliary Units.

The Patrol Operations Division’s responsibilities are to provide a feeling of security and peace to the citizens and visitors of Jackson County by supporting the Constitution of the United States, enforcing the laws, and upholding the Constitution of the State of Missouri, and the Constitutional Home Rule Charter of Jackson County, MO.

In doing so, patrol Deputies respond to a variety of calls for service including domestic violence assaults, disturbances, residence and business alarms, accident investigations and others as needed.  The Patrol Division assists other police departments or sheriff’s offices on calls in their cities or counties when requested.  They also assist other divisions of the Sheriff’s Office when requested.  Many of the specialized units may be available for appearances and/or demonstrations.

For further information or to request assistance from any of the above units, contact the Patrol Division Commander, Captain Michael Montgomery.
